We are alive during an age where we get to witness an unprecedented rise in activism, particularly in the realm of LGBTQ+ rights. But, from all that I have been seeing recently, what the community stands for and the behaviors that it promotes seem to be crossing the boundaries of public decency.
I believe each person is born with an inherent dignity and worth. And so it is crucial to uphold the values of modesty, decency and respect for yourself and others in shared spaces.
Recent statistics show a growing concern for public indecency at events such as "Pride parades." A study conducted by the Public Religion Research Institute found that 54% of Americans believe that public nudity at such events is inappropriate. This sentiment is not limited to religious individuals; even within the LGBTQ+ community, there is a significant number that express discomfort of explicit displays of sexuality in public spaces.
The issue starts to get even more complex when we compare the societal response to public indecency towards heterosexual individuals versus homosexual individuals. Now I am not saying either is right, all I'm saying is that a heterosexual couple engaging in explicit behavior in public would likely face criticism or even legal consequences.
But, similar (sometimes even worse) behavior at Pride events is overlooked or even celebrated under the guise of "self-expression" or "liberation." This discrepancy raises questions about societal standards and the potential normalization of behavior that may not be suitable for public viewing, especially with the presence of children.
Is Criticism of Inappropriate Behavior at Pride Events Misinterpreted as Homophobia?

I had to censor this tweet a bit because of the explicit content. @SJPeace is a popular left-leaning activist but he also voiced his criticism of men exposing themselves to children at pride events. His tweet, which was a clear denouncement of inappropriate behavior, sparked a surprising backlash.
He's an activist, known for his support of LGBTQ+ rights and was met with accusations of being "homophobic" for his stance. This reaction reveals a troubling misinterpretation of what it means to be open-minded.
Open-mindedness is about being receptive to new ideas and perspectives. It should not be confused with the acceptance of all behaviors, especially those that infringe the rights and safety of others. His critics were quick to label him as "homophobic," a term that is often misused to silence any criticism towards the LGBTQ+, no matter how valid it may be.
Using the word "homophobic" to stifle valid concerns about inappropriate behavior dilutes its meaning. The backlash @SJPeace received also reveals a concerning trend where the protection of children is overlooked in the name of "open-mindedness."
Children should not be exposed to explicit adult behavior, whether it's at a pride event or any other public space. Their innocence and well-being is what is of the utmost priority.
Is a Minority's Influence on Public Morality Leading to a Shift in Societal Norms and Public Decency?

Another tweet I saw that I shared above raises an important question about the influence of a minority on public morality. He points out that it's often a small percentage of the population that seems to steer the moral compass of society, particularly in matters related to public decency.
It's a curious phenomenon, isn't it?
How a minority, in this case, those engaging in explicit behavior at public events, can have such a strong impact on societal norms. This influence leads to a shift in societal norms that do not align with the values of the majority and it promotes behavior that is inappropriate and harmful.
Public decency is not just about adhering to societal norms; it's about showing respect for others and creating an environment that is safe and comfortable for everyone. When public morality is influenced by a minority that promotes explicit behavior in public spaces, it can create an environment that is uncomfortable or even harmful for others, particularly children.
We are called to love our neighbors and to treat others with kindness and respect. This includes respecting the public space and ensuring that our actions do not harm or discomfort others.
And the thing that I don't understand is how openly sexualized behaviour and nudity has anything to do with the LGBTQ+ community.
Is Exposure to Explicit Content at Public Events Harming Children's Development and Safety?

In a tweet that is both alarming and thought-provoking, @ChayaRaichik10 shares an excerpt from an article titled "How Sexual Abusers Try to Groom Children." This highlight shares a disturbing tactic used by abusers: desensitizing children to sexual content by exposing them to explicit material. Shouldn't this be raising significant concerns about the potential harm of exposing children to explicit content at public events?
This potential harm of exposure cannot be overstated. Children are in such a crucial stage of development, both physically and mentally. Their understanding of sexuality is not yet fully formed, and exposing them to explicit content can lead to confusion, anxiety, and even trauma. It can even normalize inappropriate behavior, making children more vulnerable to exploitation and abuse.
Children's brains are in a constant state of growth and change. This is especially true during the early years of life, but continues well into adolescence. During these stages, children are forming their understanding of the world, including their understanding of sexuality.
When children are exposed to explicit sexual content, it can disrupt their natural developmental process. They could struggle to make sense of what they're seeing, leading to confusion and anxiety. This is because their brains are not yet equipped to process such complex and adult-themed information.
Repeated exposure to explicit content can lead to desensitization, a process where the brain's response to certain stimuli decreases over time. In the context of explicit content, desensitization can lead children to view explicit behavior as normal or acceptable, even when it's not. This can make them more vulnerable to exploitation and abuse, as they may not recognize inappropriate behavior when they encounter it.
As a society, we should be prioritizing the sanctity of childhood and the importance of protecting their innocence. Children should be allowed to grow and develop at their own pace, free from adult themes and behaviors. They should be taught about sexuality at an age-appropriate and in a respectful manner, guided by the values of love, respect, and consent.
The Bible teaches us to "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6).
This also means teaching children to respect their own bodies and the bodies of others and to understand the difference between appropriate and inappropriate behavior. It also means protecting children from explicit content that they are not yet equipped to understand or handle.
Are Voices Being Silenced in the Name of Hate Speech?

In a recent tweet, a list of 250 Hollywood celebrities who signed a letter from LGBT lobby group GLAAD was shared. The letter labels anyone objecting to sex changes on children as peddling “malicious lies” and “hate speech.” This tweet brings to light a concerning trend in our society: the silencing of dissenting voices.
The attempt to silence those who object to certain practices is a troubling development. Freedom of speech is a fundamental right and it includes the right to voice objections and concerns. Labeling dissenting opinions as "hate speech" is a dangerous path that stifles open dialogue and undermines the very essence of a democratic society.
The issue of sex changes on children is a complex one, with valid concerns. It is a topic that deserves thoughtful, respectful discussion, not blanket labels that shut down conversation. We should focus on the importance of protecting children and allowing them to develop naturally.
A New World Order and Communism Is Going To Threaten Our Individual Freedoms and Values?

The concept of a New World Order, at its core, refers to the idea of a single, global authority that supersedes national governments. This would mean the end of national sovereignty as we know it, with all countries being governed by a single, global entity.
When combined with the principles of communism, the implications become even more concerning. Communism, as an ideology, advocates for the abolition of private property and the establishment of a classless society. In theory, this is supposed to lead to equality and the end of exploitation. In practice, it ends up leading to the concentration of power in the hands of a few, usually the state or the party in power.
The dangers of such a system are numerous. Firstly, it could lead to the suppression of individual freedoms. In a communist regime, the state is in control of every aspect of life, from the economy to education to the media. This leaves little room for individual freedom or personal autonomy.
Secondly, it stifles innovation and entrepreneurship. Without the incentive of personal gain, individuals are less motivated to innovate or start new businesses. This can lead to economic stagnation and a lack of progress.
Thirdly, the concentration of power in the hands of a few could lead to corruption and abuse. History has shown us that communist regimes results in human rights abuse, from political repression to forced labor to mass killings.
Lastly, such a system could lead to a lack of political freedom. In a communist regime, there is usually only one party, and dissent is not tolerated. This means that citizens have no real say in how they are governed, and there is no accountability for those in power.
We are all created in the image of God and this gives us an intrinsic worth and a right to personal freedom. The principles of communism, particularly as they relate to the suppression of individual freedoms and the imposition of a state-controlled economy are in stark contrast to the values we fought for before.
We need to learn to navigate through these troubling times, protect our children and do what we can to prevent the "New World Order" that is underway.
